Robert Whitlow is one of my favorite authors. This book is one of my least favorite of all the books he has written. The story is about a married lady with children who has for years had drams that take her to a place of peace (called "the living room"). These dreams preview things that come true later in her life. This plays big into the story of the book. After she is fired from a law firm "the living room" helps solve a case that gives her her job back. Though this is my least favorite of Whitlow's books it is still a good read. If you enjoy Christian fiction you will enjoy this book.

The Choice

The Choice by Robert Whitlow

Robert Whitlow is one of my favorite writers. He has hit a homerun with this wonderful . This book is about being pro-choice, that is choosing life over death. If you are pro-life you will love this book. Whitlow does such a great job weaving the story. WARNING: you will need a tissue or two. I will not tip you off on the story but do want to leave you with a few quotes from the book:

Sometimes love doesn't get what it wants; it has to do what is best.  p. 58

. . . adversity is the crucible for character formation.  p. 59

Never forget the blackest darkness must retreat before the light of the smallest candle.  p. 114

Then in the "A Note from the author" section Whitlow writes:

My ultimate hope is that readers of this story, regardless of age or gender, will be encouraged to make unselfish, sacrificial choices. Laying down our lives for others, in big and small ways, is at the heart of Christian living. Jesus said, "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends" (John 15:13 NIV). Wouldn't more of that be a good thing?  p. 415

Water's Edge

Water's Edge by Robert Whitlow

Robert Whitlow is one of my favorite authors. Water's Edge is an excellent book that challenged me to live my life pleasing to the Lord. Whitlow tells a good story but also has a gift of weaving God's Word into the story. Here are some of the scripture and a quote or two:

"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them." Ephesians 5:11 (NKJV)

"My times are in Your hand. . ." Psalm 31:15 (NKJV)

Deeper Water

I just finished Robert Whitlow's newsest book, Deeper Water. It was good, but seemed a different style then his other books. I just have one quote to share with you, but I think it is a big one!

The Sacrifice

Darkness has a strategy. For millennia, evil has been associated with chaos, but in reality, it marches in strict cadence to a master plan. Its goals are simple. Its greatest enemy is light. Wherever light appears the darkness rises up to snuff it out.

In a small North Carolina town, a light was flickering.

No one noticed the light. Those who held it did not recognize its significance. It shone in the midst of a new generation, thus posed a great threat. The darkness saw it and knew it must be destroyed. The plan was set in motion. It was a proven scheme.
